Algebra 2, offered in a condensed 6-week format, is designed for students who will have successfully completed Geometry by the end of the current school year and are looking to accelerate their math pathway in preparation for Pre-Calculus or Statistics in the 2026–2027 school year.

What you'll learn in Summer Math: Algebra 2

Algebra 2, offered in a condensed 6-week format, is designed for students who will have successfully completed Geometry by the end of the current school year and are looking to accelerate their math pathway in preparation for Pre-Calculus or Statistics in the 2026–2027 school year. This is a credit-bearing math class in which a student will earn 1 full high school Algebra 2 credit, typically earned over the course of a full school year.

Julia Deckrow, Algebra II teacher at Sora Schools

Julia Deckrow

Julia is a self-proclaimed math enthusiast and Sora Schools’ longest-tenured STEM teacher. With 14 years of experience—teaching everything from Algebra and Geometry to Precalc—she has a knack for making even the most complex variables click. A Southern California native turned Central Oregon local, Julia holds a B.S. in Mathematics and a teaching credential from CSU Channel Islands, as well as a Master’s in Education.

Course requirements & prerequisites

  • Summer Algebra 2 is an accelerated, intensive, upper-level math course for 1 high school credit. By enrolling, one is committing that their student is prepared and willing to work for 3-4 hours each day independently for the length of the 6 week course. 
  • The five traits of a successful Sora student are: Motivation, Curiosity, Intellectual Capacity, Open-Mindedness, and Independence. 
  • Algebra 2 is for students who have completed Algebra I and Geometry. 
  • Daily attendance is required. 
  • Camera-on is a requirement at Sora Schools; students should have their camera on with their full face visible. 
  • Students will need a reliable internet connection and a computer (not a mobile device) to access the Zoom class online. A webcam and microphone are required for live lessons and interactive activities.

Sora Schools is a private school with regional accreditation through Cognia and WASC. While we provide a certified transcript upon completion, every school district has its own transfer policies. We strongly recommend that you contact your student’s school counselor or registrar in advance to confirm they will accept the credit toward their specific graduation requirements.
