A Day in the Life
A Sora school day doesn’t look like “school” at all. It feels more like a studio, a lab, a global clubhouse, and a real-world playground stitched together. No bells. No single-file lines. Just students designing their own rhythm with the support of expert educators.
So what does a day look like?
A day at Sora blends live classes, focused independent work, and time for students to connect with their community and interests.

9:00 AM Local Time | The 15-minute routine that shapes the day
Each day starts with a short check-in with a small group of students and a dedicated advisor. It’s a time to connect, set goals, and build community. The advisor is the main adult supporting your child, working closely with them and with you to guide learning, wellbeing, and the overall Sora experience.

2-3 Hours | Live classes per day
Each day balances engaging live classes with quiet focus time. Students spend a few hours learning together with teachers, and a few hours working independently on personalized assignments, creative projects, and clubs they care about.

12:30 PM Local Time | Integrating school with life
The rest of the day belongs to them. Students complete personalized homework and projects as part of their expeditions, but they also get out into the real world. They might head to soccer practice, volunteer at an animal shelter, or work a shift at their internship.
Learning for real life
Each trimester, students take 3–4 expeditions focused on real-world projects while building a strong academic foundation. Personalized practice adapts to each learner’s needs, and before class, students prepare with short readings or videos, then reflect with a classmate so they arrive confident and ready to learn.

During the day
A balanced rhythm of live learning, hands-on creation, and personal support shapes each student’s day.

Flexibility and freedom
Sora balances live sessions with asynchronous work, wellness breaks, creativity time, and independent study. Students get to move, reset, snack, or chase an idea that’s sparking.

Deep Making
These are project blocks where students go hands-on: prototyping, writing, coding, designing, experimenting, debating, presenting.

Advisory
Each student meets weekly with their house advisor for personalized guidance. These aren’t academic checklists. They’re real conversations about goals, interests, challenges, and growth.
Students work on real projects
Every 12-week expedition ends with an awesome project presentation from each student. So, by the time they graduate, they haven’t just passed classes—they’ve worked on real projects, held real responsibilities, developed real judgment, and built the kind of confidence that comes only from doing meaningful work.
This portfolio of work has landed students in the Ivy League, but has also enabled students to skip college and jump right into their dream job.
